Anne Marie Cummings, Author and Real Estate Property Developer, talks about why staying relevant is key to a successful retirement. In her new book, Baby Boomer Bonding, Anne Marie steps you through reventing yourself to be retirement ready. Get inspired by this lady who is not just talking the talk but also walking the walk. Ann Marie is now renovating Mansions and providing homes for women who do not want to live alone.
Here is Anne Marie’s first manion renovation project, Marigold Mansions, in Coubrg, outside Toronto, Canada. Anne Marie describes this project as a spin off the movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
It is located in a popular area, near the beach that is easily accessible by train and car. Marigold Mansions is now home to older single women that did not want to live on their own. They now enjoy the luxurious environment of a 5 star hotel without paying the price. Ann Marie has created a space to bring people together to live in a community.
Lonliness is worse than obsesity according to Anne Marie. The statistics speak for themselves According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics you can look forward to much longer life than ever before. “Over the past two decades, the number of people aged 85 years and over increased by 132.9%, compared with a total population growth of 33.5% over the same period.”
Men have a greater chance of finding a patner in later life than women, Above age 70, the sex ratio reduces markedly due to the impact of higher male mortality in this population group. Older women are not necessarily looking for a parnter but would still prefer some company.

Anne Marie Cummings is always inspiring with messages like this one:
“This is what I mean….life is never over until it is over. Don’t limit yourself ever. We have value at all ages and we should not doubt that. Keep on keeping on my friends…stay relevant and live a purpose filled life until the fat lady sings.”
If you want to get inspired to do more in retirement then Anne Marie also runs bootcamps to help future retirees design their retirement. Reinventing yourself can lead to living a longer and more satisfying life.
