Ann interviews an Australian Investors Association (AIA) director, Russell Lees. Have a listen and see if this could be a good fit for you.
The AIA believes that anyone can learn to invest and pave their way to financial freedom with a modest amount of time and effort.
Financial education is relevant to all ages, so whether you are young and have an interest in making a start on your investment journey or if you are about to retire and don’t know what to do with your superannuation, then contact the AIA through their website.

I am now investing in growth companies with good fundamentals and good prospects for growth. A lot of retirees, especially older retirees invest in large companies that pay good dividends for retirement income. There is always risk with any investment and the investment risk of older companies is that their share price could loose value over time. This then dimishes the size of your capital base.
I also take more notice of the percentage return an investment will bring. If that will be higher than the inflation rate because over time the buying power of our money deteriorates and a dollar will buy less and less.
Deciding what type of investor you want to become and what suits your circumstances is a decision you need to make A good starting point is to seek advice from a qualified Financial Advisor. We are blessed in Australia to have great organizations like the Australian Investors Association. It is a not for profit organization set up by investors for investors.
