Who said life in retirement had to be sedentary? We owe it to ourselves to keep active and keep ourselves in the best shape possible. I should talk? I am the one that spent my youth running around from one sporting activity to another. Then in motherhood I spent my time driving the kids around to get them from one sporting activity to another.
Now that I have an empty nest I spend my time in front of a computer, driving back and forth from the farm to town. Now I spend my time attending a lot of meetings that mainly involve sitting around having meaningful discussions and eating.
It seems as though I have picked up more than a few bad habits over the years.
It is all to do with food and movement. How does one get rid of bad habits? Well apparently we have to create some new habits that will take us in the right direction.
This will involve rearranging schedule to make room for the new habits you want to create. I think I will have to get to bed early so I can get up earlier to fit in all the new activities I need to do to create these new habits. This will be quite a challenge as I don’t get home from some meetings until 10 pm.
For those of you out there that want to get more out of life after retirement by leading an active life there is hope. If you may not be in a position to join a gym and need help well then there is now help available online.
You don’t even have to leave home to have a person on your team to help you create and keep you on track to create those new habits that you know you have to do to make a difference in your life.
